Unit 10 : Our houses in the future Skills 2 I/ OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students can Listen to an interview about a house in the future. – Write about a dream house. 1. Knowledge: a. Grammar: The future simple. b. Lexical items : – Types of houses and appliances. c. Pronunciation: 2. Skills: – Listening, Speaking, Reading,Writing and interactive skills 3. Attitude: – Cooperation, respect, having right and friendly attitudes with friends, teachers in the new school 4. Quality and competence: – Be confident and friendly with the new school environment – Develope listening, speaking skills and cooperative interaction II/ TEACHING AIDS (MATERIALS) Teacher’s preparation: Students’ preparation: – Lesson plan, Pictures, posters ,textbook,CD-MP3(Computer-Multi projector/cassette/ “sách mềm”) and other materials Textbook, notebook, school things. III/ WORKING ARRANGEMENTS( WAYS OF WORKING ) – Pair work , individual work, group work, T-WC IV/ TEACHING PROCEDURE: 1-Greeting`and checking students’ adtendence: Total: In: ……… Out: ………. . 2-Checking the old lesson 3-New lesson: Teacher’s activities Student’s activities Content 1. Warmer – Greeting. – Checking attendance. – Asking for the teaching date. 2 Revision Brainstorming – T asks Sts to work in groups to write all the dream houses, then go to the board to write down. – T gives suggestions. – palace – skyscraper – apartment – UFO – motor home – space houseboat – villa – flat 3 New lesson A. Listening: 1.Listen to Nick and Linda… (P45) * Pre- listening: – Ask sts to read the questions of task 1 -T asks Ss to describe the house which they like best * While- listening: – T asks Ss to read the task 1 in their book. – T can give some words before Ss listen. – Ask them to focus on the task they have to do. – T plays the recording twice. – T asks Ss to listen and write the speakers’ names under the correct pictures. – T corrects their answers – Ss listen again and check their answers – Ss copy in notebook – Individual work 1. Key: – Linda: P3: ( villa by the sea, with a swimming pool and a flower garden) – Nick: P1: ( apartment in the city) 2.Listen to the conservation again.. (P45) – T asks Ss to look at the information in the first column. – T plays the recording again – T asks Ss listen and tick what are important to Nick and Linda. – Ss check their answers each other – T calls Ss to give their answer to the class and correct the mistakes where necessary. Writing 3.Work in pairs… (P45) – T divides the class into six groups – Each groups has to discuss their dream houses – T can give some suggested ideas – Ss answer the questions in the part 3 4. Now fill the table … (P45) – Ss fill the table, using the main information they have discussed in 3. – T goes around the classroom and check their answers 5. Use the information in 4 to write about … (P45) – T checks the writing of students – T repeats some important structures when writing about the dream house. – Individual work – Pair work – Group work – Individual work – Individual work 2.Key: – Linda: sea view, swimming pool, garden, quiet. – Nick : park view, city view, cable TV 3. – What type of dream house is it? – Where is it located? – What is there surrounding it? – What is it like? – Do you love your dream house? Consolidation – Summarize the main point of the lesson.
